This hybrid of a Jonathan and Golden Delicious this tree is vigorous and high yeilding. Fruit is crisp, with a balanced, sweet-tart flavor.
Jonagold is a triploid variety, so it is not able to pollinate other apple trees. Apples require pollinators, so another variety of apple should be nearby for production. As a triploid, two pollinators are recommended. Some pollinators include Gala, Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, Empire, Cortland or Red Delicious. The parent varieties of Jonathan and Golden Delicious are not pollinators.
This tree is
Zone 5, so it will do well in areas such as Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls.
Trees need
full sun and should be planted minimum 10ft apart from other fruit trees.
