This is an American heirloom variety that is very crisp and juicy, used in both cooking and fresh eating. It has a very late harvest time, usually around October or November, and is one of the best long term storage apples. Like some heirloom varieties, it is usually a biennial bearer. Used in both cooking and fresh eating.
Apples
require pollinators, so another variety of apple should be nearby for
production. Some recommended pollinators include Lodi, Liberty, Yellow Transparent, Braeburn, or Pink Lady.
This tree is
Zone 4, so it will do well in most of the region including the colder areas
such as Rathdrum and Athol.
Trees need
full sun and should be planted minimum 10ft apart from other fruit trees.
