Apple Sweet 16 5 Year

Developed by the University of Minnesota and released in 1977, Sweet Sixteen is a crisp and juicy apple with a very sweet, almost candy flavor.

Apples require pollinators, so another variety of apple should be nearby for production. As a cross between Northern Spy and MN447, the Northern Spy cannot be used as a pollinator. Some recommended pollinators include Wolf River, Honeycrisp, McIntosh, Freedom, Cortland, Jonathan, or Dolgo Crabapples.

This tree is Zone 3, so it will do well in most of the region including the colder areas such as Rathdrum and Athol.

Trees need full sun and should be planted minimum 10ft apart from other fruit trees.
