Designed to be a better McIntosh, it is crisper in texture with better storage life and the tree is more disease resistant. Flavor and color is similar to the McIntosh, with a sweet and tart balance. Apples are excellent for cooking and ciders. Fresh eating is best when they are fully ripe.
Apples
require pollinators, so another variety of apple should be nearby for
production. Some recommended pollinators include Prima, Spartan, Empire, Freedom and especially Dolgo Crabapple.
This tree is
Zone 4, so it will do well in most of the region including the colder areas
such as Rathdrum and Athol.
Trees need
full sun and should be planted minimum 10ft apart from other fruit trees.
