Originating in England in the 19th century, it is oval shaped and bright yellow. Ideal for cooking into jellies or pie fillings or even bottling, although it is not considered best for fresh eating. This plum is heavy bearing and reliable and has been highly popular, especially in commercial production.
This plum is considered self fertile, however another variety of plum nearby would increase production. Pollinators would be other European plums such as Blue Damson, French Petite, Green Gage, or Stanley.
